Fellowships

The SLNG (Sri Lanka Next Generation) Geek Camp 2010 is planned to be held at the Excel World, Colombo 10.

The SLNG Camp Committee now cordially invites qualified applicants to apply for fellowship funding to participate in SLNG Camp 2010 in Colombo.

Fellowship Program targets young personnel from Sri Lankan universities, institutes (including government, non government or private) and high schools who are actively involved in Internet/ ICT related activities.

Local fellowship package will cover camp registration fee and local transportation (train-fare/ bus-fare) if necessary. Lunch, Refreshments and Stationary will be provided during camp period.

The final grant size is determined according to final costs and available funding, of which successful applicants will be duly informed.

The fellowship recipients will be selected based on,

1. Full-time/ part time student of a university, institute (including government, non government or private) and high school, or
2. Employed by Internet-related company and in the age less than 30 years old
3. Willingness to return to SLNG Camp as a presenter or trainer in future
4. Willingness to work with SLNG Working Groups
5. Duly complete fellowship application
6. Presentation materials. The presentations are expected to align with one of the following working groups (WGs),
   • Internet Technologies
   • E-Culture
   • Disaster Management and E- Health

Applications will first be reviewed by SLNG Camp Committee and SLNG Fellowship Selection Committee will then select those who meet the above-mentioned selection criteria in their final decision.

The following deadlines will apply to the SLNG Geek Camp 2010 Fellowship Program.

• Selection Announcement: 30 Oct 2010

Please download the fellowship application form [Application Form]. To get good chances for fellowship you are required to complete the form in all respects along with a presentation file.

You should submit followings,

• Completed fellowship application
• Your presentation as PowerPoint (.ppt) slides. It should be planed for 20 mins.
• A summary about your presentation (Maximum one A4 page).

Fellows who submit outstanding presentations will get an opportunity to present them in the camp.
